[ARCHIVED] East Mercury Boulevard bridge closed during regatta

The bridge is the main viewing area for the Hampton Cup Regatta in Mill Creek, which takes place Saturday and Sunday. Traffic will not be allowed past Willard Street.

The Regatta is the national championship of the American Powerboat Association, with 100 race teams from across the country competing over a two-day period. Races are scheduled to take place Saturday and Sunday.

Because of the regatta, Mercury Boulevard will be closed starting at the intersection with Willard Avenue from 9 a.m. Thursday until 12 a.m.Monday. Barricades, cones and no parking signs will be placed on Mercury in the eastbound lane near Willard, and on both sides of Mercury between Mallory Street and Willard.
