[ARCHIVED] City accepting applications for summer, winter youth violence prevention mini grants

alert

March 17, 2017 - The city is accepting applications now for summer and winter youth violence prevention mini-grants of up to $10,000. The goal of the grant program is to fund programs that help prevent youth violence by providing positive activities and services for young people.

The grant process is open to non-profit groups and registered neighborhood-serving or community-based organizations with an annual income of less than $50,000 a year. Projects and organizations must be “nonsectarian” in nature.

A grant information session will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, march 22, in the Healthy Families Partnership Building, 100 Old Hampton Lane. The application form will be reviewed during the information session and questions can be asked about the application process.

To attend the information session - which is not required - you have to send your name, contact telephone number and the name of your organization to corey.palmer@hampton.gov no later than noon on Tuesday, March 21.

The deadline for applications is 4 p.m. on April 19 (hand-delivered or mailed) to the Youth Violence Prevention Division, 100 Old Hampton Lane, Hampton, Va., 23669; or 11:59 p.m. on April 19 (by email) to swhite@hampton.gov.
