[ARCHIVED] Public information and input sessions on potential pool replacement & expanded aquatics facility

aquatics

Nov. 3, 2016 - Hampton has been studying adding a major youth sports facility to boost tourism. An aquatics center is being discussed by City Council, and city officials want to hear your views and ideas at two public input sessions.
Since the aging Old Hampton Community Center and its pool were closed, the city has considered a replacement pool for community use. With that under consideration, the city commissioned a study to see if it made sense to expand the potential community facility to also be a regional draw to attract swim competitions. Other options include an outdoor fun activity pool.
Learn more about the data received so far, ask questions and give your views at either of these sessions:
-Tuesday, Nov. 15, 6:30-8:30 p.m., at the Kecoughtan High School auditorium, 522 Woodland Rd.
-Thursday, Dec. 1, 6:30-8:30 p.m., at the Hampton Performing Arts Center , 300 Butler Farm Rd. (off Magruder Boulevard). This is also the site of one of the city's existing community pools, which will be open for tours.
