[ARCHIVED] City Hall to get new ADA compliant signs

stairwell sign

The updated signs will replace most of the existing signs - that includes department, restroom, stairwell and floor signs. The new signs are ADA compliant, which means signs are required to be accessible to those with disabilities, typography to be certain size, include Braille, and mounted at a specific height.

The Facilities department funded the project in order to bring all of the building’s signs up to date and regulation. The Marketing and Outreach department designed the updated signs.

Sign replacement begins Wednesday, Oct. 5 and a team from the Hampton sign company Sir Speedy will be working on the updates through the end of the week.
