Sept 26, 2016 - There will be loud noises and abnormal flight activity at Langley Air Force Base through the end of the month as Joint Base Langley-Eustis conducts a no-notice, installation-wide readiness exercise.

The exercise is part of the 1st Fighter Wing’s mission as a component of the Defense Department’s Global Response Force. F-22 Raptors and personnel assigned to the fighter wing are exercising rapid deployment to an overseas location.

The readiness exercise also tests the capability of the 633d Air Base Wing to provide support for the 1st Fighter Wing. Members of the Virginia Air National Guard’s 192nd Fighter Wing are also taking part in the exercise.

Incoming and outgoing traffic will not be interrupted, but there may be delays. For more information, contact the public affairs office at 757-764-5701 or email 633abw.pa.media@us.af.mil.
