July 18, 2016 - The 1st Fighter Wing will have aircraft operating at late hours as a part of an exercise Monday evening and early Tuesday morning, Joint Base Langley-Eustis announced.
“During this time, our Airmen will be working to hone vital skills and enhance their ability to protect America at a moment’s notice,” said U.S. Air Force Col. Pete Fesler, 1st Fighter Wing commander, in the release. “The F-22 Raptor is a formidable weapons system, and in the hands of our outstanding Airmen, it is a platform that guards the nation and deters our enemies from aggressive action. We truly appreciate the community’s understanding of our need to train and prepare, and we are grateful for their patience during this exercise.”
Though noise concerns are expected to be minimal, said the release, some local residents may hear aircraft noise that is louder than normal.
