[ARCHIVED] Make Your Own Rain Barrel Workshop

Rain Barrel Workshop flyer_July 2016 docx.jpg

Sign up for the summer Rain Barrel Workshop, July 23, 9am - 11am, HCCC Office, TODAY! Seats fill fast, so don't delay.

In this workshop, you will receive all the parts you need to construct your own rain barrel, plus you'll learn how to make as many as you need! The $40 registration fee covers the cost of the parts.

Did you know that, according to Saving Water Partnership, a 1/4 inch rainfall on a one-story 1400 square foot house will send 210 gallons of water onto your yard (and probably some of it will go into the nearest storm drain to be carried away)? Why not keep 50 gallons of that water to be used later when the rain isn't falling? This workshop will teach you how to save up some rain!

This learning event is cosponsored by the Hampton Master Gardeners and the Hampton Clean City Commission.

Contact Cris Ausink at causink@hampton.gov or call 757-727-1158 to sign up today, or to ask questions!
