[ARCHIVED] Hampton Public Library celebrates 90th year with exhibit

The original Charles H. Taylor Memorial Library opened in 1926, as the first free county library in Virginia.
Literacy, education, experience, community and connection have always been hallmarks of Hampton's library system. While library patrons may access material differently than they did 90 years ago, much is still the same.
Visit our exhibit of memorabilia to see how much has changed, and how much has remained the same. (Remember card catalogs that were actually cards?)
Join us for light refreshments on July 12 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. to celebrate the opening of an exhibit of items from the library's first 90 years at the Main Library, 4207 Victoria Blvd.
