[ARCHIVED] Hampton police hold a "Look, Listen, Call" event for residents in Aberdeen Gardens

June 27, 2016 – Hampton Police Division held one of its first Look Listen Call events at Aberdeen Gardens on Wednesday, June 22.

Several residents gathered at Aberdeen elementary school, where Master Police Officer Colgan Wilson gave a 15-minute training on how to report suspicious activity. Wilson, who is the Division's Neighborhood Watch coordinator, encouraged residents to report activity by calling the non-emergency number at 757-727-6111.

The training was followed by a 1-mile walk through the historic neighborhood, where residents could speak directly to police officers about their concerns.

Wilson said the program is modeled after one similar to National Night Out’s called Dog Walker Watch.

He hopes to organize more LLC events throughout the summer in different neighborhoods. The ultimate goal, he said, is to have Hampton citizens and police working together to make neighborhoods safer.
