[ARCHIVED] Tropical storm warning issued for Hampton

The National Weather Service at Wakefield said we can expect our heaviest rain starting Friday at 5 p.m. and continuing until midnight. We can expect 2-4 inches of rain, with wind gusts between 30-40 mph and sustained winds around 20-25 mph.

Andrea is a fast-moving storm and Hampton should be out of the Tropical Storm Warning by 4 a.m. Saturday. Forecasters said tidal flooding should not be an issue.

The city's Office of Emergency Management will continue to monitor the storm and provide updates.
