[ARCHIVED] "Choose Hampton" campaign wins national award

Sept. 23, 2015 - Earlier this month Hampton received the 2015 Award of Excellence from 3CMA - a national marketing and communications group - for the successful "Choose Hampton" campaign. The award was in the "branding" category.

The Savvy Awards recognizes outstanding local government achievements in communications, public-sector marketing and citizen-government relationships. "Choose Hampton" "really has legs," said the judges from 3CMA (City, County,Communications Marketing Association). "We like the social connections and growth potential. Simple yet effective."

Choose Hampton is an ongoing campaign that uses social media, the internet and print to highlight the benefits of living, working and playing in Hampton. You can go online to www.hampton.gov/choose and learn more about the men, women and businesses that Choose Hampton.

Based in Washington, D.C., 3CMA was founded in 1988 to help cities and counties satisfy the communication needs of residents and businesses. The Savvy Awards "salute skilled and effective city, county, agency or district professionals... of all sizes and budget classes by judging entries in several different population groups."
