[ARCHIVED] Celebrate Earth Day by Volunteering!

April is Earth Month, and we need lots of volunteers for our activities! To sign up, follow instructions listed with the activities.

April 11: Walk Hampton Clean, 6 a.m. - noon. Pick a street in Hampton, register for this special cleanup, and let's see how many miles of street we can get cleaned this Saturday! April 17: Ivy Home Road Community Cleanup, 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. Clean up a section of Ivy Home Road. Sign up at hccc@hampton.gov.

April 18: International Children's Festival Litter-Free Event and Display, shifts from 9:30 - 5:00. Volunteers needed to staff HCCC display and to patrol the festival to keep it clean. Sign up at hccc@hampton.gov.

April 18: Peninsula Pathfinders Litter-Free Event at Sandy Bottom Nature Park. Contact Pat Parker through hccc@hampton.gov.

April 20 - 24: Earth Day Stories at Forrest Elementary School. Volunteers needed to read environmental stories to children in the library on the morning or afternoon shift, between the hours of 7:45 and 2:15, books provided by HCCC. Sign up at hccc@hampton.gov.

April 25: Schools Appearance Index, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Volunteers needed to evaluate Hampton City Schools based on exterior points. Sign up at hccc@hampton.gov.

Sign up for one activity or sign up for them all! They are all fun and easy ways to celebrate Earth Day and make a difference in our city.
