[ARCHIVED] 2nd Annual Safety Awards lunch

It was a chance for Public Works Director Anthony Reyes, City Manager Mary Bunting, and Vice Mayor George Wallace to let employees know how much their work is appreciated.

Bunting noted that she used the example of the Public Works staff at public meetings during the recent 2014 budget process to remind residents of how much they get for their tax dollars. "The fact that you do your job well" makes it easier for others, she told Public Works employees.

Wallace called the Public Works staff "the best of the best." And Reyes cited examples of how Public Works employees are appreciated by city residents.

National Safety Council Awards were presented Tuesday to the following divisions or offices:

*Traffic: Perfect Record Award for 2013 for experiencing "zero" mishaps
