[ARCHIVED] Hampton University Business Incubator Open House

The Hampton University Business Incubator, located at 6 W. Country St. in Hampton, is hosting an open house and networking event Thursday Feb. 26 11:30 am -1:30 pm. This event will include tours of the facility, short briefing on services and opportunity for small business owners to network.

The City of Hampton co-funding partner of the HU Incubator will have greetings provided by Linda Curtis City of Hampton Vice Mayor who will also speak on the valued partnership with the HU Incubator to create jobs and what opportunities may be available for small businesses in the City of Hampton.

The purpose of the HU Business Incubator is to provide nurturing services and mentoring to new and small business owners during their critical early existence. In addition to management consulting and mentoring the Business Incubator provides, office space, technical assistance, counseling and other services on-site that are often unavailable to new or small businesses due to their cost and/or the location of their offering. Office equipment is also available to Incubator clients. Additionally, the HU Business Incubator operates as a Business Resource Center and contains a library of publications useful to the emerging entrepreneur.

These valuable services are offered well below industry cost relating to these services. Government studies have shown that companies that go through an incubation program have a 77% greater chance of success being in business 5 years and longer compared to those that don't!
