[ARCHIVED] 2015 Lunch and Learn Series schedule announced

Dec. 29, 2014 - I am pleased to announce the 2015 Lunch and Learn Series offered by Optima EAP. The Lunch and Learn Series will occur on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month and are designed to build skills and develop capabilities that positively impact job performance and enhance employee effectiveness.

Employees and supervisors from all departments can participate in the one-hour training classes and developmental opportunities. There are two specific series being offered:

Employee Series: Designed to build fundamental skills and encourage positive behaviors in the workplace.
Target Audience: All employeesSecond Thursday of each month 12:00-1:00pm
January 8th: Customer Service
Why not use the start of a new year to refocus on the reason why we come to work each day which is to provide exceptional services to the citizens of Hampton. Learn about:
The impact of good and poor customer serviceThe difference between serving customers and serving them well
Your areas of personal influence in delivering exceptional customer serviceTips to improve service interactions with internal and external customers

Leadership Series: Designed to support skill development for individuals in supervisory and/or leadership roles.
Target Audience: Supervisors and above who have direct employee reportsFourth Thursday of each month 12:00-1:00 pm
January 22nd: Values and Ethics
In light of recent stories at the state and local level concerning ethics and conflicts of interest with government officials, learn about:
The risks of unethical actionsThe strategies that encourage ethical behavior
How to address ethical dilemmasHow to coach employees in making decisions that are consistent with organizational values

The schedules for both series are available online for your reference and each month you will receive an email notice and brief description of the classes being offered. Classes will be held in the Human Resources Training Room located on the 4th Floor of City Hall unless otherwise noted.
