Adapting to Sea Level Rise

Wednesday, November 14, 2018

Join Emily E. Steinhilber, JD, Research Assistant Professor, Commonwealth Center for Recurrent Flooding Resiliency, Office of Research, Old Dominion University for the latest developments in combatting sea level rise. We experience flooding first-hand in our streets many times a year and read often in the news that our region is one of the most vulnerable, nationally, to sea level rise. But we also know our local economy and quality of life is closely tied to our waterways. Learn more about the risks our region faces from a high rate of relative sea level rise and changing precipitation patterns as well as new research and adaptation strategies being employed right now across the region to help us all live with the water. Bring a bag lunch, we'll have free dessert for you!
