Manager's Message 5-23-13: Opening Night of Peninsula Pilots - Free Tickets!

Hard to believe that the summer season begins this weekend – I don’t know about you but, for me, this year has gone by so fast! Memorial Day brings with it cookouts, picnics, the opening of neighborhood pools and so much more. Here in Hampton, it also brings Minor League Baseball season. As you know, one of our many community assets is the War Memorial Stadium and the presence of the Peninsula Pilots. Each year, the City participates in recognition of this tremendous community asset on Opening Night which this year is on Wednesday, May 29th. Each year, we provide complimentary tickets to employees and their families. I hope you will consider joining us for this fun-filled evening. Showtime begins at 6:05 p.m. and the first pitch is at 7:05 p.m. If you want to join in on the fun, please be sure to pick up your ticket from Donna Hodges in my office. You can stop by any time, or call, or email Donna. Our office number is 727-6392. Tickets are available on a first come, first serve basis so do not hesitate – this will be a very fun evening and I hope to see you there!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day weekend, however you choose to celebrate. I also thank those of you who work over the holiday for the time you spend away from your families to keep us safe and to take care of our city’s needs.
