City Manager's Message Nov. 22: Reminder about administrative days off

I can hardly believe it is already time for Thanksgiving! I hope each of you has the opportunity to enjoy time with family and friends during this holiday season. Several of you have inquired about the status of the administrative days off we have given in the past — the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve (or Dec. 23 this year, since the 24th is a Saturday). Accordingly, I wanted to send a reminder that Council agreed to provide these administrative days each year without regard to citizen satisfaction days as had been the past practice. Employees who must work on these days will be given another administrative day off at another time during the year. We hope you will enjoy this extra time as another token of our deep appreciation for all you do to make Hampton an even better place to live, learn, work and play!
