JAQ Process Deadline Extended to October 3rd

September 23, 2014 - MAG has agreed to extend the JAQ process deadline to 11:59 p.m., Friday, October 3rd.  This is the absolute deadline for both the employee response and supervisory review. If you have not completed your JAQ as an employee or if you haven’t reviewed your subordinates’ responses as a supervisor, you will not be able to do so after October 3rd.

If you were unable to attend an information session, or need a refresher on the process, I encourage you to take a look at the video presentation by clicking on the following link: http://youtu.be/r7v-aSqNXs8 and also reviewing the attached FAQs and answers before getting started.

Below is a recap of suggestions from earlier emails, along with some highlighted new information that may help you complete the JAQ:

  1. The JAQ website doesn’t support the Safari internet browser. 

  2. When logging into the system, select the JAQ, which is the last tab on the left of the home page.

  3. You will use your employee id for both your user name and password.  Employee id numbers range from 2-5 characters. Please make sure you enter your actual employee id, including any leading zeroes if applicable. What’s listed in i-pay may not be your user id and password.  If you are unsure of your employee id, please contact your department payroll clerk.

  4. If your job title is incorrect for any reason including a job change when you access your employee information, please enter your correct title in the “Working Title” field. You should complete the survey based on the job you are in now.

  5. To select your immediate supervisor, enter the first letter of the last name of your supervisor and click the “Go” button located on the far right side of the screen. You will then have a dropdown box and can select your supervisor from the list of names provided.

  6. If you are a permanent full-time (PFT) employee who also works as a WAE employee, please complete the JAQ using your PFT employee id.

  7. If you would like to print a blank survey, click on the “Main Menu” button located at the top of the employee information screen.  Near the center of the main menu page, click on the button marked “Print All Pages”.  Next click on the button marked “Confirm”. You will then see the Introduction Letter for the JAQ.  You can now print the JAQ.

  8. You are strongly advised to complete Question 6: Essential Tasks offline. 

  9. If you are a supervisor, you will still have access to your employees’ surveys after you’ve completed your survey and click the “Finish” button.

To complete the supervisory review:
  1. Go to the MAG website: www.maginc.org
  2. Click on "JAQ" located on the bottom left side of the screen.
  3. From the drop down menu, select the City of Hampton and click “go”.
  4. Enter your employee id for both your user id and password and click "go".
  5. From top of the employee information screen, click on "main menu". You will see a list of questions.
  6. Go to number 5, subordinates and click “go”. You will see a list of your subordinates.
  7. Click on “Review JAQ”.  You  can select each item to review. You will see your employee’s response and you have the opportunity to select whether you “agree” or “disagree” with his/her comments. You can also enter a “supervisor comment” to support your selection.  After you’ve reviewed each item and added comments, please click “save”. Click on “Return to your subordinates questionnaire review page” to move to the next item.
