The Home of the Citizens' Unity Commission
The Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion works to ensure that Hampton will be a city that is welcoming, supportive, and inclusive of all citizens, regardless of race, color, class, religion, age disability, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
The office supports two citizen-based commissions and one advisory group:
- Citizens' Unity Commission (CUC)
- Citizens' Engagement Advisory and Review Commission (CEARC)
- Youth Advisory Group (YAG)

Hampton Diversity College

Unity Awards
The Unity Awards was established in 2000 to recognize the contributions of individuals, organizations and initiatives that have made a positive impact supporting the importance of diversity in the city of Hampton.....Learn More
Citizens' Unity Commission
Members are appointed by Hampton City Council. See the list of commission members and youth advisory group and partners. Apply to join the commission, or attend a meeting: 2nd Thursday of the month, 6 p.m.-8p.m., Community Development Conference Room, Fifth Floor, City Hall, 22 Lincoln St.

The Citizens' Engagement Advisory and Review Commission
This commission is an extension of the Citizens' Unity Commission and appointed by City Council to increase understanding and communication between citizens and city departments. Learn more here.
