The Hampton Police Division is committed to enhancing partnerships within the Community and government transparency. This is why the Division has implemented the use of CrimeReports.com. The Division is proud to be the first agency on the Peninsula to utilize this software which provides an online crime mapping and analysis tool. This feature provides citizens the opportunity to view and monitor crimes that occur within the City. This program was provided free of charge by Public Engines Inc.
CrimeReports.com seamlessly transitions the daily incident crime data from the Division’s internal servers and immediately allows the citizen to view what is happening within their community. Through the use of google based mapping, citizens will be able to view the nature of the crime, where the crime occurred, the date/time in which the incident took place, and the report number that corresponds to that particular event. Additionally, citizens can join Crime Reports (free of charge) and receive automatic updates/alerts via their email on a particular crime and/or location in which they choose.
