The Healthy Families Parent Education programs provide a supportive environment for parents and children to explore, play and learn together and apart. Our programs offer a wide variety of workshops and classes focused on all stages of development – from prenatal to the often-challenging teen years.
Most parenting learning opportunities are available to the general public. Our evening classes offer dinner as well as programs for children and youth. It is our desire to support parents' efforts to create satisfying and successful family relationships. We invite you to join one of our classes or workshops and share with us the joys and–– challenges of being a parent in today's world.
The Early Years The programs are designed to be a resource and offer support to new and expecting parents. By sharing personal experiences and incorporating current research, parents can gain insight on early development and how to relate and effectively communicate with their babies.
The School Years These quality-enrichment sessions are for parents and their children ages 5-18 with a focus on successful communication, problem-solving, helpful discipline practices and other tools for developing a positive family environment.
Specialized Programs Designed to enhance parent-to-child and parent-to-parent skills, these programs address how to navigate through difficult family situations such as divorce, improve communication with your partner, and learn safe practices such as CPR, first aid, and rules of the road.
Organized Playgroups Gives families a chance to enjoy time together in a safe and pleasant environment. There are a wide variety of organized groups including infant massage and stimulation classes, free play, arts and crafts, and circle time where parents and their young children join together in music and movement.
