After School Programs

After-school programs are available for individuals with disabilities ages 6 to 22 who are enrolled in Hampton City Schools. This fee-based program operates when the Hampton City Schools are in session.

Prerequisites: Ability to use the restroom with minimal support, ability to follow 1-2 step directions and have a desire to participate.

To participate in Therapeutic Recreation programs, each participant must have an assessment completed to ensure their needs are met to the best of our abilities. Please call 757-728-1710 for more information.

Therapeutic Recreation After School

Participants can enjoy games, crafts, and excitement after school. An Individualized Education Plan will be developed upon mandatory assessment. 

  • Ages: 6 to 22 (currently enrolled in school)
  • Date/Time: Aug. 28, 2023 — June 12, 2024, 2-6 p.m.  
  • Place: Therapeutic Recreation Center, 4315 Kecoughtan Road, Hampton, VA 23669
  • Fees: $55 per week (or $200 per month)

School's Out, Rec's In

This program is for certain teacher work days. Currently enrolled students ages 6 to 22 can participate in a full day of recreational games, activities and more 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. Students enrolled in this program must bring lunch. Dinner and a snack will be provided. Cost is $20 per student for Parks & Recreation members, and $30 per student for non-members. Fee is not required for those already enrolled in the Therapeutic Recreation After School program.
