Facilities Management is responsible for managing, maintaining, and securing all public buildings and parking structures for the City of Hampton. This includes approximately 85 buildings—with a total square footage exceeding 1.6 million—and two parking garages. Facilities Management installs new equipment, repairs existing equipment, renovates office spaces, and provides daily maintenance.
The management and maintenance of these buildings include carpentry, custodial service, electrical and HVAC work, locksmith services, painting, and plumbing. Facilities Management also provides power, lighting, and water support for various events throughout the year including: The International Children's Festival, Hampton Boat Regatta, Downtown Block Party, the Sickle Cell Anemia Event, Blackbeard Festival, Holly Days Parade, elections, the coloring of lights on City Hall, and other special events.
