Hampton Public Library

Our public library began in 1926 as the first free county library in Virginia. Today the library system includes the Main Library and three branch libraries.

Regarding COVID-19

Libraries have reopened. All four locations of the Hampton Public Library are now open to the public Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 1-5 p.m. Computer lab hours are Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m., and Saturday 1-4:30 p.m. 

Beginning June 21, the new hours for the Main, Willow Oaks and Northampton Branch libraries are Monday - Thursday, 9 a.m. - 7 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Saturday - Sunday 1 - 5 p.m. The new hours for the Phoebus Library are Monday - Thursday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Saturday 1 - 5 p.m., Sunday closed.

To provide some assistance during restrictions prompted by the coronavirus pandemic, the library provided the following helpful links of information, resources and entertainment.

Educational and Learning Resources
