Public Works
The Public Works Division is at the heart of most road, water and waste issues in Hampton. Public Works is separated into several major divisions or services, including: 

  • Engineering Services
    • Capital Projects, Construction Standards, Utility Policy, Development Services, Improvement Projects, Waterways Management Plans, Reports, Studies and Plans
  • Solid Waste
    • Bulk Limbs; Bulk Trash; Collection Containers; Household Chemical Collection; Leaves & Grass; Recycling; Regular Garbage; Tire Recycling; Yard Waste Site; Reports, Studies & Plans
  • Stormwater
    • Catch Basins & Yard Drains; Cave-Ins; Ditches & Drain Pipes; Flooding & Stoppages; Illegal Dumping; Outfall Ditch Maintenance Schedule; Stormwater Billing.
  • Streets & Roads
    • Curbs and Gutters, Sidewalk Repair, Handicap Ramps, Road Shoulder Reshaping or Rebuilding, Potholes and Cracked Pavement, Concrete Slab Damage, Street Sweeping
    • Land Disturbance Permits
  • Traffic Engineering
    • Guardrails, Moving and Hauling, Pavement Markings, Street Lights, Traffic Counts, Traffic Signal Systems, Traffic Signs
  • Wastewater
    • Sewer Overflows or Stoppages, the Fats, Oils, and Grease Program, Publications, Sewer Mapping GIS, Sewer User Fees
