United We Stand:
Day of Remembrance and Hope
Held September 11 at Gosnold's Hope Park, the City of Hampton and the Hampton Military Affairs Committee (MAC) sponsored a ceremony to honor the Armed Services and Public Safety personnel who protect the nation every day. Public readings were held near the Trees of Hope, a strand of eleven evergreen trees planted in co-mingled soils from the sites of the three attacks that occurred on that day (the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Somerset County, Pennsylvania).

Hampton Health Department: Prostate Awareness Program
This feature was produced by the Hampton Health Department in conjunction with the local chapter of the American Cancer Society. The program highlights the month of September that has been declared Prostate Awareness Cancer Month.

Tour of Recent YARDS Contest Winners
The Beautification Committee sponsors programs and activities that call attention to the importance of beauty throughout our city and help residents, businesses, and governmental agencies in the community work together to help keep our city beautiful. The Y.A.R.D.S. program is a contest designed to promote community awareness of the importance of environmentally friendly yards.
Olde Wythe Sign Dedication
Dedication Ceremony to commemorate the placement of Historical Markers chronicling the history of Olde Wythe. Ceremony was held on the waterfront at the end of Hampton Roads Avenue.
