Some downtown streets, parking lots will be closed for Blackbeard festival

May 23, 2017 - Several downtown streets and parking lots will be closed June 1 through June 4 for the Blackbeard Pirate Festival, a two-day celebration where the waterfront comes alive with dozens of pirate re-enactors and parts of downtown are transformed into the busy seaport of yesterday. Led by Blackbeard himself, re-enactors help visitors step back in time and relive the history and legends of 1718. Closed for the festival:

  • Eaton Street parking lot (between Eaton and Wine streets) - Closed Thursday, June 1 at 6 p.m. through Sunday, June 4 at 10 p.m.
  • Queen’s Way from Wine Street to King Street, and Wine Street from Queen Street to Old Town Lane - Closed Friday, June 2 at 8 a.m. through Sunday, June 4 at 10 p.m.
  • Eaton Street from Queen’s Way to Eaton Street parking lot - Closed Friday, June 2 at 5 p.m. through Sunday, June 4 at 8 p.m.
  • Queen’s Way from Eaton Street to Wine Street - Closed Friday, June 2, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. through Sunday, June 4, 2017 at 8:00 p.m.
