Plan now to attend Unity Awards June 9

May 12, 2016 - The 2016 Unity Awards, recognizing individuals, groups and initiatives that have a positive impact on diversity in Hampton, will be held Thursday, June 9, from 6-8 p.m. at Hampton’s Performing & Creative Arts Center, 300 Butler Farm Road.

The ceremony and reception is open to the public. Please RSVP to Wanda Ferrell, wferrell@hampton.gov, by June 4, or call 757-728-3279.

The awards were established in 2000. Past winners include Betty Smith, a retired dance instructor, Hampton Public Library, and Jeffrey Stern, former artistic director for the city. The awards are sponsored by the Citizens’ Unity Commission, which promotes and sponsors activities and events across Hampton that bring citizens together.
