The Hampton Military Affairs Committee's goal is to maintain a strong, healthy, and cooperative relationship between the city and its local military facilities, members of the Armed Forces, military families, and our veterans. This includes those active duty, prior service, and retired military personnel residing in Hampton and/or serving at Langley AFB, the VA Medical Center, and military installations in greater Hampton Roads. This collaborative relationship is accomplished through information sharing, special events, identification of important resources and opportunities and other forms of civic partnership.
The Committee meets quarterly at the Rupert Sargent Building, 1 Franklin St., in the Veterans Conference room on the first floor. Here's the 2017 meeting schedule:
If you are an active-duty service member, Reservist, Guardsman, veteran or family member, you can request help from the Military Affairs Committee by calling 311 in Hampton (727-8311 from a cell phone or from outside the city) or email.
Apply to be on the Military Affairs Committee, or email us to volunteer to help the committee with programs. Indicate your experience and what you'd like to do.
