About the Plan

The City of Hampton, in partnership with consulting firm Rhodeside & Harwell, is undertaking the city's first bicycle and pedestrian plan. Funded by a grant from the Office of Intermodal Planning and Investment, this plan will focus on the city's seven urban development areas - Buckroe, Coliseum Central, Downtown, Fort Monroe, Kecoughtan, North King Street, and Phoebus - and how to make it easier to bike and walk in and between those areas.

Bike Walk Hampton Event

Bike Walk Hampton is an event to celebrate cycling, running and walking in honor of the City’s first bicycle and pedestrian plan. It will be held Saturday, Sept. 24, from 8 a.m.-noon at Carousel Park (602 Settlers Landing Road) in downtown Hampton.

The event will include group rides and runs for all skill levels, a Hampton history walk, and prizes. There will also be a closed kid's course and Hampton's bicycle police will be on hand to practice safety skills. We hope you join us. For more information, email specialevents@hampton.gov.
