Facilities Management is responsible for managing, maintaining and securing all public buildings and parking structures for the City of Hampton. This includes some 85 buildings with a total square footage exceeding 1.6 million, and two parking garages. We install new equipment, repair existing equipment, renovate office spaces and provide daily maintenance.
The management and maintenance of these buildings include carpentry, custodial service, electrical and HVAC work, locksmith services, painting, and plumbing. Facilities Management also provides power, lighting, and water support for various events throughout the year, including: The International Children’s Festival, Hampton Boat Regatta, Downtown Block Party, Sickle Cell Anemia Event, Blackbeard Festival, Holly Days Parade, elections, the coloring of lights on City Hall, and other special events.
The staff at Facilities Management provides a wealth of services to aid City of Hampton departments in their decision-making, including information on building maintenance and renovation. Completing an average of 3000 work orders a year, in addition to numerous phone-call and email requests, facilities management has a proven record of success.
