2016 Holly Days Parade - "Operation North Pole"

Celebrating the Holiday Season and 100th Anniversary of Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Virginia

Operation North PoleCelebrate the Holiday Season , the 100th anniversary of Langley Air Force Base, and the 100th anniversary of the NASA Langley Research Center at the Peninsula’s largest illuminated holiday parade.

Col. Caroline M. Miller commander of the 633rd Air Base Wing at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, and David Bowles, director of the NASA Langley Research Center, will be special  grand marshals for the parade. Langley turned 100 in 2016 and NASA Langley turns 100 in 2017.

New for the parade this year is the "North Pole” feature in Carousel Park, which will include free Carousel Rides, an Interactive Elves Workshop with Make & Take Toy Crafts, Live Entertainment and Food Vendors ($), and of course, Photos with Santa & Mrs. Claus!  

The “North Pole” will be open during the following dates and times:  

  • Thursday, December 8, 4-8:00 p.m.
  • Friday, December 9, 4-8:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, December 10, 4-9:00 p.m.
