Peninsula Workforce Development Center


This 92,000 square foot facility is equipped with a flexible manufacturing lab, one-stop Career Resource Center, hi-tech computer and research labs, career and employment programs and a telecommunications center. PWFDC provides customized training, professional and industry certifications, skill assessments, and much more.

Virginia Consortium of Engineering and Science Universities (VCES)


The VCES provides on-site graduate courses leading to advanced degrees through the Ph.D. level and facilitates faculty and student research activities. Courses are taught by on-site and on -campus faculty via two-way compressed video. The four universities in the consortium are the College of William & Mary, Old Dominion University, University of Virginia, and Virginia Tech.

Workforce Services - Virginia Department of Business Assistance


The Virginia Jobs Investment Program (VJIP) encourages the expansion of existing Virginia businesses and start-up of new business operations in Virginia. It specifically addresses the top concerns of existing businesses and economic development prospects – finding and developing a skilled workforce. It goal is to help offset recruiting and training costs incurred by companies that are either creating new jobs or implementing technological upgrades. In addition to direct funding, VJIP also provides assistance with workforce related challenges and organizational development workshops.
