Dewey Decimal System

What It Does

The Dewey Decimal System of Classification helps you know how to find a nonfiction area to browse without asking for help. Nonfiction has 10 main Dewey categories.

Please note: Biographies are separate from the books with Dewey classification numbers, and are arranged alphabetically by the last name of the person the book is written about.
Fiction books are also separate, and are shelved alphabetically by the last name of the author.
