Alterations permits are priced based on the value of the job or contract and are usually projects concerning renovations to existing square footage. Be aware this doesn't include new construction; please see Building for further information.
The cost is currently $11 per $1000 value of the job or contract. Generally, all of our minimum permit fees are $61.
The above pricing highlights standard permits; each case may vary depending on the circumstances of the project. Also consider, there are exceptions to the above pricing. Please call 728-2444 for detailed permit cost information or take a look at the fee schedule. You may print off the permit application (commercial or residential) and submit it into the Development Services Center Office located on the 3rd floor of City Hall in downtown Hampton. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
